Man U aces get bigger spaces

Manchester United are extending their training ground car park — because stars’ huge motors won’t fit.

The Premiership champions’ millionaire players splashed out on even bigger and flashier bling motors.

Now the parking area at their Carrington base is getting a makeover. And the changing rooms are also being altered — to make room for the players’ MANBAGS full of cosmetics.

Players complained normal parking bays were too small — and it’s no surprise.

Wayne Rooney recently bought a huge £70,000 top of the range Hummer H2.

Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs drive big Range Rovers and winger Cristiano Ronaldo cruises around in a chunky Bentley Continental GT.

A source said: “The lads keep trying to outdo each other with bigger and bigger motors. When Ronaldo’s car pulls in it looks as wide as a house — it’s huge.”

“We never know what they are going to come to work in next.

“And the refurbishment plans include the dressing rooms, which are too small to fit in all the lads’ manbags cosmetics. They have more products than the WAGS.”

Ronny bids fond farewell to Asia

Cristiano Ronaldo says he thoroughly enjoyed the experience of touring with United throughout the Far East this summer. The 22-year-old overcame a stubbed toe to come on as a late substitute in the 3-0 win over Guangzhou on Friday - showing off his customary tricks and flicks. As expected, Ronaldo was well-received by fans in Asia but the Portuguese winger says it is the team that commands the greatest following.

"It's a great opportunity to come to Asia," he told MUTV.

"Here in Asia you have a lot of support and you see in these games how much everyone enjoys it. For me it's important the fans like us, not just me but all the players.

It's important for us because United are so big all over the world and I'm very proud of that.

"As with all pre-season tours, the number one priority is gaining fitness and match sharpness. That objective, Ronaldo says, has been achieved.

"It's very good for me. I feel fit and I'm very happy for that. But I must keep my form going. The Premiership starts soon and I must be ready for that. I hope to play well. My ambition is still the same – I want to play well, score goals and provide assists. I tried to do the same last year and I worked hard to do that. I hope things come good for me."

Man Utd end Asia Tour with win...why Cris was not playing...

Nani, Wayne Rooney and Lee Martin claimed the goals as United overcame stifling conditions in Guangdong Province to put a winning seal on their hugely successful tour of the region that has also seen stops in Japan, South Korea and tiny Macau.

Having won two and drawn one of their three tour games before this clash at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium, United boss Alex Ferguson opted to rest the likes of Edwin van der Sar, Patrice Evra and Cristiano Ronaldo in favour of untried youngsters.

With the game won, Ferguson delighted the fanatical Chinese crowd by introducing Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo for the final 12 minutes, but the double footballer of the year could not add to the score during his brief cameo.

The United boss revealed Cristiano Ronaldo's absence until late on was due to a stubbed toe suffered in training. The loudest cheer of the night was reserved for the introduction of Ronaldo 14 minutes before the end. It had originally been suggested the winger would miss out altogether after suffering picking up a minor knock in training. But, to the unbridled glee of the fans who had been given only two weeks' notice of the game, Ronaldo made an entrance anyway to try a few tricks.

Ronaldo and Giggs missing from Man Utd tour match

Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs were surprise absentees from the Manchester United squad to face Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals in the concluding match of their Far East tour.

Both players picked up knocks in the win over Shenzhen on Monday and club officials said the extent of their problems would be confirmed after the final whistle.

Edwin van der Sar was also ruled out, as was Owen Hargreaves, who has still to make his debut for the Red Devils following his £18million move from Bayern Munich.

Fergie: 'Bets are off with Ronaldo'

Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to quit while he is ahead after winning £400 in wagers with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 22-year-old Portugal winger has easily eclipsed the 15 and 20 goal totals set by Ferguson during the past two seasons.

But the Footballer of the Year has not accepted the 65-year-old Scot's latest challenge.

In a bid to deny Ronaldo a hat-trick of successful bets, Ferguson has set him a massive 35-goal target for the coming campaign.

The United boss said: "I won't be having a bet with Ronaldo this season because he has refused my offer.

"I told him that I would be asking for 35 goals from him this year, but he said no, so there will be no betting this season."
